Whatever it Takes – Strategy of the Week

I’ll do whatever it takes to get a deal done. No matter how long it takes. No matter how much research it takes. No matter how much persistence it takes. I’m fully committed to growing my business. Are you?

I was at work one day and one of my co-workers came up to me and told me “Hey! I saw one of your posts on Facebook…tell me more about your business.” After explaining to her what my company does and what clients we serve, she put me in touch with a business that she felt really needed our help. I reached out to the business owner immediately and have been in touch with them for over 3 months. After multiple phone calls, answering questions over email, discussing the opportunity with my development team, and several in-person meetings, I finally closed the deal. Now, you might be thinking…that’s a lot of work! Well it was but it was 100% worth every moment of it! We are taught as kids to never talk to strangers…I think that’s the biggest mistake a parent can teach their kids. In my opinion, strangers have everything you want in life. By staying committed to this deal and doing whatever it takes to gain their business, my company will grow and become more successful because of it. This new account is only good for one sale. I can ask for referrals, a testimonial, sell additional products/services in the future, etc.

According to the HubSpot, 44% of salespeople give up after 1 follow-up even though most deals require at least 5 follow-ups. If I were to add up all of the phone calls, emails, texts and in-person calls for this particular account it would probably sum up to roughly 12-15 follow-ups. What does that tell you? I’m committed to my success and my company’s success.
